Clayton Haigh
Pattie Walker Memorial Award in Architectural Glass for $1,000

Clayton Haigh has been working with glass for 6 years. With a background in drawing, sculpture, and decorative metal-smithing, Clayton graduated from Sheridan College’s Crafts and Design program, with a focus on glass, and the Haliburton School of the Arts’ artist-blacksmithing program. It was Sheridan College that introduced Clayton to the glass medium. Clayton centres his practice on two distinct bodies of work: sculptural installations, and a refined series of designed objects for the home. He is dedicated to producing smart, simple, and beautiful designs of quality. He was accepted into Harbourfront Centre’s artist-in-residency program in 2009.

Clayton has participated in many successful shows in the GTA under his company name, Balance Glassworks, including the ‘One of a Kind Christmas Show’, ‘IDS’, and ‘The Artist Project.’ His designs have recently been featured in the Canadian Clay and Glass magazine, on CityTV, and featured in Now Magazine and Toronto Life Magazine. Clayton has recently opened a studio called Turnstyle Glassblowing Studio.
